Kuna Shed Removal Services
Kuna's growing fast, and that split has created two very different kinds of shed jobs in town. On one side you've got newer lots in neighborhoods like Patagonia and Crimson Point, packed close together with fencing, play structures, and sometimes an HOA keeping an eye on the yard. On the other, there's rural acreage and hobby farms stretching out toward the Birds of Prey area, where sheds and outbuildings have had decades to settle, rust, and get added onto.
That mix changes how a shed removal or demolition job actually runs here, from what has to be cleared before a crew shows up to where the material ends up once it's off your property.
Getting a crew onto the lot
In the newer subdivisions, the shed itself is rarely the hard part — the path to it is. Narrow side yards, vinyl fencing, pool equipment, and tight gate openings are normal on lots in the 0.13 to 0.38-acre range that make up a lot of Kuna's newer tracts, and plenty of HOAs have rules about when equipment can be on a lot or how debris has to be staged. It's worth checking your HOA's rules and clearing a path to the gate before anyone arrives.
On acreage and hobby farms outside city limits, access is usually wider but the ground isn't always friendlier. Gravel driveways, loose dirt, livestock fencing, and uneven pasture can slow a crew down more than a narrow gate ever would. If there's a well, septic line, or irrigation gear anywhere near the shed, point it out before anyone starts working around a slab.
What actually comes out of a Kuna shed
Housing age tracks pretty closely with shed type here. Newer tract lots tend to have resin or prefab kit sheds that go together — and come apart — without much fuss: light to haul, nothing structural to worry about. Older acreage properties are more likely to have a hand-built wood shed anchored to a concrete slab, and that's a demolition job, not just a removal. If a structure like that is coming down for good, Kuna's Building Department lists a demolition permit application that's worth checking into before work starts.
Either way, some of what comes out is worth sorting instead of just hauling to one pile:
- Scrap metal — shelving, tools, hardware — can usually be recycled instead of landfilled
- Clean, untreated wood is accepted for diversion; treated or painted wood generally isn't and goes with regular debris
- Tires get pulled aside — the landfill takes them, but for a per-tire fee
- Old paint, solvents, and other chemicals belong at a household hazardous waste event, not in the debris pile
- Freon-containing items, like an old shed fridge or window AC, need separate handling and carry their own fee
- Anything still usable — ladders, tools, patio furniture — is worth setting aside to donate before it's hauled off
Where it ends up
Ada County's main landfill, Hidden Hollow, sits up in the North Boise foothills off Seamans Gulch Road, which is a longer haul from Kuna. For most drop-offs, the Meridian Transfer Station on West Franklin is the closer option, and it's set up to take the usual mix from a shed job — trash, construction and demolition debris, yard waste, scrap metal, and clean wood.
That's also why a job gets sorted on the property instead of thrown in one pile. Treated and painted wood doesn't count toward diversion, tires and Freon appliances carry their own fees, and hazardous waste doesn't go in with the rest of the load at all — Kuna City Park hosts a household hazardous waste drop-off a few times a year for exactly that. Separating it before it leaves your lot is what keeps a job moving instead of getting turned back at the scale.
A shed job in Kuna isn't really about the shed — it's about the lot it's sitting on and what's actually inside it. Sort that out ahead of time and the rest of the job goes a lot smoother.
